It’s Thursday before the Oregon Country Fair. You have your tickets (You used the Magic Zumwalt Packing List, right?). Your unerring hippie direction sense has led you to Veneta, Oregon (or you followed directions). But you were too excited, left early, and now Zumwalt Park doesn’t open until after noon.
where do i wait?
Starting in 2018, the gate to Zumwalt Campground opens some time between noon and 1 p.m. the Thursday before the Oregon Country Fair begins. Try as you might, you will not be allowed in early and will not be allowed to park at or around the gate.
THERE IS NO DESIGNATED STAGING AREA FOR ZUMWALT CAMPGROUND.
In previous years, staging Zumwalt campers has been handled in a variety of ways. Most recently we have been staging in a designated location. This changed in 2016 and is no designated staging area for waiting for entry into Zumwalt Campground.
when can i be there?
You can show up when you like, but camping in Veneta is only allowed in designated camping areas. If you show up Wednesday before Fair or earlier, you may run into problems with the municipal police camping on the street. If you have to get into town early, make a reservation at one of the area's numerous campgrounds or stay with a friend in the area.
