is there a ZCG Facebook group?
Yes, the fabled Zumwalt Campground FB group does exist. However, it is a closed group. This is for the privacy of members and allows candid discussion about our favorite place in the world. The only way to get into the group is to be invited. If you don’t know someone in the group then you’re going to need some Fair magic to make it happen. Here’s the mystical procedure you will need to follow:
The ZCG Facebook group is a great community with lots of love and over two decades of Fair knowledge. Jump in, make friends, and we’ll see you there!
- If you don’t have a Facebook account, get one. It’s one of the most powerful tools a hippie can have.
- Go the to Super Fun and Totally Unofficial Oregon Country Fair Facebook page.
- Request to join the group. No, this is not the Zumwalt group, but there’s lots of Zumwalt people that prowl here and there’s oodles of good information about the Fair besides.
- When the admin accepts your request make a post like, “Hi, I’ve been going to Fair X number of years and I’m trying to connect with people who camp at Zumwalt. Any help is much appreciated!” Sooner or later someone will reply or message you.
- Let the Zumwalt person know you’re trying to get into the ZCG Facebook group and need an invite. You will need to be friended with them for them to invite you.
- Once you are friended and they get the invite submitted it will need to be approved by the ZCG group admin.
- When you are admitted to the ZCG Facebook group you MUST immediately post a haiku about how you feel about Fair this year. Failure to post a haiku will result in embarrassing rejection and at least a year of crappy luck (OK, the rejection and bad luck bit is complete bullshit, but it would be VERY cool if you posted a haiku when you get in. Zummies like poetry.)
